Workshop Overview

The Robotic Surgery Workshop is a hands-on training program designed to introduce and enhance surgical expertise in minimally invasive liver resections and donor surgeries using robotic platforms. This workshop offers a unique opportunity for hepatobiliary and transplant surgeons to gain proficiency in robotic techniques that improve precision.
Participants will explore the principles, indications and evolving applications of robotic liver surgery through expert-led lectures, surgical video demonstrations and simulation-based training.

Learning Objectives

Understand the setup and preparation process before robotic surgery (patient positioning, system calibration, tool selection).

Learn the roles of the surgical team in robotic surgery (surgeon, assistant and scrub nurse).

Practice the coordination and communication needed among the surgical team during a robotic procedure.

Develop hands-on skills by practicing using robotic surgery simulators.

Learn essential techniques, such as suturing, dissection, tissue handling, and anastomosis.

Build competence in performing basic surgical tasks like camera navigation, instrument manipulation, and precise movement control.
